Capacity building

Through the Capacity building component of EU PPF Programme, at least 1500 participants – representatives of relevant local and national institutions –  will be trained and enhance their capacities:

• EU PPF6 Unit: 20 one-day trainings – app. 500 participants
• EU PPF7 Unit:  more than 21 trainings – app. 500 participants
• EU PPF8 Unit: 26 one-day trainings – app. 500 participants
• EU PPF9 Unit: to be defined

Trainings within EU PPF scope follow specially tailored programme prepared on basis of the assessment of technical knowledge and needs of the target groups in preparation and implementation of energy, transport and environmental infrastructure projects.

The overall objective of EU PPF trainings is to build up and strengthen capacity of the employees in the relevant local and national institutions to the level which ensures sustainable planning and preparation of major infrastructure investment projects in the context of EU pre-accession funding requirements.

The training program is designed to familiarize the training participants with systematic changes which should be introduced in the process of preparation and management of infrastructure investments. This program also contains recommendations for operational level improvements which should be embedded as daily practice activities within the project preparation process in the future.

In training preparation, EU PPF6 team will ensure usage of innovative and contemporary training tools and transfer knowledge techniques in line with the best EU practices.

The training modules will be customised and developed based on the extensive assessment of the specific training needs of different target groups involved in the EU PPF programme work. Designed in that way, on-the-job trainings will support the practical transfer of knowledge, experience and lessons learned critical for quality project preparation in the energy, transport and environment sector.
