EU PPF8 project unit held three trainings on FIDIC Conditions of Contract

During January and February 2019, EU PPF8 team hosted set of trainings on Basics of FIDIC Conditions of Contract in Zlatibor, Novi Sad and Belgrade, that were successfully completed by 32 representatives of the city / municipal administration and public companies from Užice, Požega, Ivanjica, Novi Sad and Belgrade.

The objective of this training was to enhance the participants’ knowledge and understanding of the procurement procedures, forms and content of standard FIDIC contracts related to works and services. In addition, the participants had an opportunity to exercise the evaluation process related to service contracts.

The representatives from the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental protection, Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, PE Institute for Urbanism of Vojvodina, Serbian Railways Infrastructure, Ministry of Environmental protection, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of European Integration finished these trainings.

Knowledge of international tender procedures and legal issues is of crucial importance for successful implementation of large infrastructure projects. FIDIC (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils) is most frequently used set of conditions of contract in international construction and engineering. The use of FIDIC Conditions of Contract is a recommendation of the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, UN Industrial Development Organisation, leading international commercial banks and investment funds, as well as other capital investors.
