RECYCLING, WATER SAVINGS, ENERGY EFFICIENCY – WHAT CAN I DO FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?

A healthy environment is the basis for preserving human existence and sustainable development of the society. It integrates the nature that surrounds us, as well as everything that man has created using the science and technology in order to meet his needs.

Our needs are diverse, growing and constantly changing with the development of technology. Unfortunately, the resources to meet these needs are becoming less, while at the same time the negative human impact on the environment is ever-increasing. Today we live in consumer society in every aspect: we purchase, spend, throw away, without thinking and prior rationalization.

In order for this to change, each of us needs to change his/ her habits. However, it is not just the habits that need to alter: it is also essential to define good and sustainable “Green” laws aimed at rational consumption, reduction of global pollution and global climate change. Our planet is polluted beyond every limit. This means that in nature around us there are many harmful substances caused by human activity and negligence, or natural processes that adversely affect the quality of the environment and human health. Only when we realize that, preserving the environment is important for ourselves and for the quality of life we ​​live and which our children will live – then things can change for the better.

That is why we need to know, to stay informed, to change. If each of us does a little, it will mean a lot to the nature. Let us take the path of responsibility together, because that is how we protect, safeguard and improve the environment, the living conditions of people and the survival of flora and fauna.
