The main goal of the Accessibility project is to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities in public institutions. The implementation of this project should support local governments in Republic of Serbia to improve accessibility for persons with disability and reduced mobility to public facilities through reconstruction and adaptation of some pre-selected public buildings (such as schools, social work centres, healthcare centres and employment services). The main goal of engaging the EU PPF6 team would be to prepare technical and tender documentation for the implementation of accessibility measures in 41 public buildings in 21 municipalities. The direct beneficiaries of the project are municipalities and public utility companies responsible for the management of various public buildings.
The preparation of technical documentation for the “Accessibility Project” should include, where possible and necessary, the following scope of work:
- Installation of elevators;
- Installation of inclined stair platforms;
- Installation of vertical longitudinal platforms;
- Installation of concrete or steel ramps at the entrances to the building;
- Renovation/rehabilitation of sanitary facilities (toilets, internal sewerage and water supply) in accordance with accessibility measures for persons with disabilities;
- Additional interior improvements as needed (replacement of damaged floor coverings, interior doors…) in accordance with the available budget.
As part of the EU PPF program, a team of experts from the EU PPF6 project unit will prepare the following technical documentation:
- Documentation of the existing situation; » Conceptual Design for obtaining Location Conditions (if necessary);
- Preliminary Design for obtaining the Decision on approval for the execution of works;
- Design for Execution of works;
- Tender documentation for works contracts.
- » Complete technical and tender documentation for 21 facilities of the first phase, for which a tender has been announced for the execution of works in 2019. The realization of project works is co-financed through EU IPA 2016 and partly from the state budget. The works were completed by the end of 2021.
- Complete technical and tender documentation for 2 facilities of the second phase. The tender dossier was submitted in October 2021.
